Catherine Bodmer
Bio Catherine Bodmer's (Montreal, Quebec) work involves installations and site specific interventions that are characterized by a reflection on the daily rituals related to cleanliness, purification and identity. A native of Switzerland, Bodmer has studied at the School of arts of Lucerne, Switzerland, and has a Masters degree in Fine Arts from the ''Université du Québec à Montréal''. From 1999 to 2002, she was the artistic coordinator at the feminist artist-run centre La Centrale/Galerie Powerhouse in Montreal, and is currently the program coordinator at Articule. Since 1997, she has shown her work in many collective and solo exhibitions in Québec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Mexico and Taiwan. Her visual work involves installations and site-specific interventions which have been presented in several collective and solo exhibitions throughout Canada. Recent exhibitions include Skol, as part of Le mois de la Photo à Montréal(2005); Kao Yuan Art Center, Kaohsiung, Taïwan (2005); and Plein Sud, Longueuil (2003).
