Nelson Ball (1942- )
Nelson Ball was born in Clinton, Ontario and attended the University of Waterloo
where he co-edited the student literary magazine Volume 63, a biannual
(1963-1966). After moving to Toronto he edited Weed (1966-1967)
and Hybrid (1968). In 1972 he established William Nelson Books,
an antiquarian specializing in Canadian Literature. His publishing operation,
Weed/flower Press, was active between 1965 and 1974.
Nelson Ball's publications include Room of clocks (1965), Beaufort's scale (1967), Sparrows (1968), Force movements (1969), Water-pipes and moonlight (1969), The pre-linguistic heights (1970), Points of attention (1971), Round stone (1971), Dry spell (1973), Our arms are featherless wings (1973), and With Issa (1991).
