A META PHYSIC IN THINGS
............................holy
........................roman
..............................empire
............................state
........................building
..............................boom
........................teeyay
..............................team
shout of the stand up mesmerized poet
turning on an axle of actual sound
waves over his listeners——HIS
(out there), heads all attached facing his way
gulping in the words, writhing with all the
memorized cadence of the moving poem parts
in the blood, thru the living arteries——
the canals THE BEING rides:
........................not
........................wanting to
........................stop.
........................but
standing up right in the middle of the noise
the body makes, loud & long the ascending
song thru the desperate chest cavity, throat
song moving up & out projections of the loud
speaker
........................there
........................delivering the con/sonants
........................(of despair)
........................no not despair
........................(Reader: pick up your pencil
......................................& strike out “despair”)
........................rather
........................strike it all out
........................& listen
it is this: all the time
time runs thru him/ runs him thru
......................meta-physical
......................so:
......................“Ten grains of sand
......................in the palm of my hand.
......................O savage seacoast of the mind!”
.........................but
...........................if
.........................the
...........................holy
.........................roman
......................empire
........................building
......................collapsed
...........................it
......................would
.........................be
.......................because
...........................it
........................had
...........................sprawled
“O meta meta, mystic margin of the mind!” To observe
your law & to spring over the horizon of my physical
standing here in the noise of the poem! Fricative
gunbarreling of the vowels carrying poem parts from the solar
plexus ——UP & ——OUT
there
to the gobbling throats——
........................From my pulse to your pulse
........................From my lungs to your lungs
........................From my skin to your skin
........................From my foot to your foot
........................From my nostril to your nostril
........................From my ear to your ear
........................From my eye to your eye
........................From my brain to your brain
........................From my mouth to your mouth
The very moving from word to word is a dangerous step
of the foot
........................say “my mind” ; say “the mind”
...............................................SEE!
The step of the song of the dance of the poem
is a physical step, the feet are moving and treading
the resilient earth, the ear is hearing the dance of feet,
I am I am iambic steps of feet the poet pouncing on the earth,
& every pace a cadence for the pounding of the blood
into the heart against the lungs & out & out & out & out
a-shout-of-the-stand-up-mes-mer-ized-poet
turning on an axle of actual sound
...............................................is what
...............................................you feel
...............................................in the breath
...............................................is what
...............................................you see
...............................................in the synchronized
...............................................movement of the mind
...............................................out there
...............................................in front of you
...............................................circulating
...............................................in the objects of the eye
.....................a little girl in yellow dress
.....................sitting on stone fence
.....................kicking her bare legs
.....................a man with a banjo
.....................on his back
.....................a black velvet pincushion full of pins
.....................hanging on a doorsill
............................................& remembered:
for instance I can still see me & three other men
sitting in the coming mosquito dark in a little baseball grandstand in
a little town last summer——they were counting dollar bills
out in two even piles, one for the local baseball club & the other
for the man in the truckdriver hat——he was short & muscled
all wrong, had dusty red hair, a rolled crooked cigarette on his bottom
lip, a half burnt & purple dull face, a big cowboy belt at the middle
top of his not any colour tough pants——his voice a real Alabama
drawl——he had eighty seven dollars in his pile——he
had a truck & trailers & eleven little donkeys he said he carried
all over the country having donkey baseball games against aldermen &
clubmen in all the little towns in the dust——in the dusk that
was getting closer all around the grandstand & bringing thicker fogs
of mosquitoes——until he picks up the pile of money & pushes
it into a big truckdriver wallet hanging from his belt by a steel chain,
& he ups & gets in his truck & drives away, pulling on a brown
leather jacket as he shifts into second gear & drives out of
.................................................................
...............................................the ballpark———
& out past the margin of the mind
............................................but
............................................he must have
............................................had the soil
............................................of Alabama
............................................in the creases
............................................of his skin?
............................................no
............................................what I saw
............................................was a line
............................................or two
............................................darker than his skin
WHAT IS HE WHAT IS HE WHAT IS HE WHAT IS HE
...................................................................WHAT IS HE?
...............................................he
.............................................is
...............................................the
..........................................apocalyptic
.................................................poet
...................................................of
...............................................the
.............................................holy
...................................................roman
............................................empire
................................................?
Whoever said that is mouthing the antiseminal symptoms of the antipoem
..........................................located:
..........................................he is
..........................................the man with the donkeys
..........................................& the burn scars on his face
..........................................&
..........................................when he drove his blue truck
..........................................out of the ballpark
..........................................he drove it
..........................................out the end of the poem
..........................................as seen
The stand up mesmerized poet is bound in his tunnel of sound,
he is within the margins of his mind, projecting out
to the gobbling throats of his listeners, lung to lung,
the song sung where he is located in the middle of his poem
that moves up & out thru the poem that is his actual
body/
..........the whole physiological barrel of the poet of the poem!
