Things made of wood
ready for the touch
browned by the rolling of time
rubbed by a timefull of hands
One I remember
..........................on the time margin
..........................of the mind
great center beam
along the attic of our house
out of reach of our heads
or stretching fingers
Held the roof over us
and extended out
horizontal
to the horizon
..........................if you would let it
..........................and we would
Two little attic kids
margined in by banking walls
of wood aging overhead
out of reach out of mind
until remembered later and
browned by the rolling of time
