Cabbagetown
Drawing on a great history of creation and diversity Cabbagetown artists, writers and performers burst
into Nuit Blanche for the first time. Bandaged trees, submerged furniture, words as leaves, light as
dance, consume the local parks, whilst Shakespeare is in the wind on Parliament Street, cinema on the
walls of buildings and one of Canada's great novels is read non-stop in the liquor store parking lot
by local characters. Paintings by children as well as pieces by internationally acclaimed artists sit
side by side. This is just a taste of what is on offer as a fascinating downtown.
