Lynda Schneider-Granatstein, Elka Nowicka, Douglas Edwards, Valerie Butters

From dusk until dawn Toronto artist Douglas Edwards, Montréal artists Lynda Schneider-Granatstein & Valerie Butters, and Elka Nowicka from Victoria will be painting to the beat of live jazz to produce their individual canvases. Edwards is known for his lush Ontario landscapes & distinctive skies. Schneider-Granatstein’s works focus figuratively and symbolically on the elements of the psyche which she draws from her experience as a psychotherapist. Butters is an exciting young artist known for her exuberant, colourful and playful floral canvases. The vibrant tones and romantic themes combine to produce the paintings by Nowicka that are sensual and mysterious, modern yet traditional. Reputable jazz pianist Thompson Egbo-Egbo and a roster of the city’s jazz musicians will keep the mood lively and the night young as the paintings emerge on the canvases.
