Petroff Gallery
Richard, Susan, Amun and Akycha Surette
The Family Surette works are a definitive exploration of culture, politics, society and aesthetic and
how these subjects affect each other. Working in a variety of media, which includes an assortment of
hanging wall pieces, sculptural art and innovative furnishings; an essential aspect of all of their art
is the reciprocal interaction between the human body and its environment. Through the use of particular
colours, textures and shapes, the influence of the iconographic Canadian landscape is a reoccurring theme
in their work.
